Our Story
Established in December 2012, Jurists Without Chains (JWC) is an independent
non- governmental organization based in Benghazi, Libya that aims to promote respect for human
rights and the rule of law in Libya, focusing mainly on women's rights. In
particular, JWC works to achieve the specific objectives:
• Defend respect for civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights
and freedoms as enshrined in the International Declaration for Human
Rights and international conventions;
• Monitor human rights violations and provide support to the victims;
• Contribute to women empowerment and decision-making as well as
building their skills to reinforce their participation in the public life.
